The operation

When I opened my eyes, it was to another world.

I had never had an operation, so I had no idea of what to expect. I had always thought that the preparatory procedures as well as the surgery itself would be the hard part.  That was fiction.  When I came round I was immediately struck by the strange sensation that this body stretched on the bed and connected to my head, was not the body I had known before I was anesthetized.
